First Word From our Missionary

Chad Lewis, who played for BYU and for the Eagles, came to speak at our Sunday Night Devotional.  He did amazing.  He spoke for a full 40 minutes.  He shared some awesome stories.  He served his mission in Taiwan and knows Chinese.  Since he was the only NFL player who knew Chinese, he is the NFL Ambassador for China.  He got to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa with Ted Bruschi, Jeff Fisher and 2 or 3 returned Marines.  He really inspired me.  It was crazy how long he spoke, but it didn’t even seem long.  After he spoke, we did an awesome musical number singing “Called to Serve.  The first verse we sang way quiet, like we were on the other side of a hill.  Then we sang the chorus medium, then the last part loud, then the last chorus way loud.  It was amazing seeing all those missionaries doing that.  I love the Lord.  I love you guys so much.  Thanks for all the letters.  I’m happy.  I love you and my girls (Heather, Hailey, V).  Pass my love along.

  3. Is there a way to snail mail or e-mail him yet or no? He is going to be such a great missionary and is already setting a great example for other youth in our ward, me included.

  4. The best way to contact him is the snail mail address on the right hand side of this blog. He can receive email at jaren.thorne@myldsmail.net, but he can't respond back via email. Until October 18, you can write him from dearelder.com. They print and place messages in his mailbox (#261) daily.
